After finishing up in Louisiana I plan to travel up to ride the Natchez Trace again this year. Last year I planned for a multi day trip but the weather got so terrible that I had to bail out. There were severe thunderstorms and tornados north of Jackson , my destination. The trip was not a total failrue as I decided that carrying 4 panniers was too much weight for my recumbent. The bike rode well and true but I believe a trailer would be a better option. I've priced the Bob and Burley Nomad and I thiink Im going to try using the Burley Child carrier that we use to trail the dog. Its a bit heavier than the Nomad be Im in no hurry and its already paid for. I intend to use my Madden Buzzard panniers as well
As I get closer to home, the Tunnel Hill trail is always an option if theres time and decent weather. The last few years have been quite cold/wet when I've come through southern Illinois.
